Honey & sugar scrub

Homemade face scrub

Make your own scrubs using natural ingredients.  One of my favorite scrubs contains ingredients I always have in my home: honey, oil and sugar. Did you know honey has anti-bacterial properties, as well as anti-viral and anti-fungal? This alchemy of bees collecting nectar from flowers improves skin moisture, fight aging and bacteria.

For your skin care routine, it might be considered as suggested to look for the raw honey, which hasn't been heat-treated or pasteurized. It contains more active antioxidants and enzymes for enhanced benefits. On the other hand, sugar has soothing properties. Sugar scrubs are gentler than salt scrubs because the granule is round and therefore doesn’t have any ability to “cut” the skin. It’s a better choice for sensitive skins. Sugar makes a gentle exfoliant that is suitable for all skin types and conditions.

Ingredients

1 tbsp Honey
2 - 3 tbsp Sugar (white or brown sugar)
2 - 3  drops Oil (Coconut, Olive, or Almond)
1 -2 drops Lemon juice

Instructions

Place the brown sugar and honey in a small bowl and mix them well.  I prefer brown sugar, but a basic white sugar would work as well. Stir in your favorite oil. You can use coconut oil,  almond oil or you can even use olive oil, which is also great for the skin. Feel free to add few drops of lemon juice if you like.

Apply a small amount of scrub to wet skin and massage gently in a circular motion. Avoid eye area. After you’re done, make sure to rinse off  your face well. Don't forget to use your preferably moisturizer cream.  Your skin should be so soft and smooth.

Store into a  pretty bowl or jar and keep it at room temperature.

Enjoy it!
