How to make fresh Basil Pesto Sauce


Ingredients

 
3 cups fresh basil leaves, removed from stems
1/4 cup pine nuts
2-3 cloves of garlic
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp salt + some on hand to adjust taste
pinch of ground black pepper
1/4 cup good quality extra virgin olive oil






 INSTRUCTIONS


Wash the basil leaves. Place the leaves,  garlic, pine nuts and cheese in a food processor. Run on low until smooth. Now, slowly pour in the olive oil. Place it into a storage container such as a jar. Enjoy on fresh pasta or about a million other ways.






This should be kept in the fridge for about a week but you can also put it in the freezer and it should be good for a couple months.
